How to Store Celery

by The Recipe Diva     Apr 07, 2011
If not stored properly, celery will quickly become soft and rubbery; however, with a few simple steps, you can keep your celery crisp, fresh, and ready to use!

Remove original packaging, plastic, and/or rubber bands from celery and discard.

You do not need to wash your celery until it is time to use it, but if you want it to be ready to eat, go ahead and trim, wash, and dry the stalks.  Wrap in paper towels.

Using a piece of aluminum foil large enough to cover entire celery head or all stalks, wrap the celery completely.  Store in the vegetable drawer of your fridge.

It can last up to weeks stored like this.

Use your crisp celery for Celery with Orange & Nuts, Celery Slaw, and Celery Soup.
