1 pound of butter (not margarine) [+]
1/2 cup cornstarch [+]
3 cups sifted flour [+]
1 cup sifted icing sugar [+]
1 teaspoon vanilla extract  [+]

Method

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Cream butter well (may have to add an extra teaspoon or 2 of butter).  Cream in sugar, flour and cornstarch.  Beat with electric mixer until whipped cream consistency.

2. Drop batter from a teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for about 10-12 minutes.

Can decorate with a maraschino cherry if desired enjoy!
